Bayern Monkwick Res 3
Colne Star FC 4

Richie Meadows (4)

We knew today would be a difficult game playing a Bayern Monkwick side which we have never beaten in any competition.
We arrived to find thatthey were in a similar position to us chasing players and both teams starting with just 10 men.
We started quite well and went 1-0 nil in front went cole played the ball to Grids who shot from the edge of the area for there keeper to parry to an on running Meadows to head home.

After this we fell to pieces slightly, matching them for work rate however were dissapointing on the ball with us failing to string more than 3 passes together, this in some part due to Monkwicks work rate and ethics.

The second half proved to be as difficult and 1-0 went to 2-1 behind very quickly as they took the upper hand. However almost immediately we struck back when Grids played a ball through for Meadows to run in 1 on 1 and slot past the keeper.
The game swung back the other way after this and we created a couple more chances and finally taking the lead when Grids was played in down the left for him to cross for Meadows to tap in for his hat trick.
Monkwick struck back when late arriving substitute Deano failed to clear the ball at the first opportunity and a Bayern player nicked it off him only to be felled and convert the penalty.

The game was decided late on when substitute Ross Barnard flicked on a long ball causing mayhem at the back and Meadows brought down, Meadows stepped up and converted his 4th of the game with a terrible penalty into the bottom corner.
It could have been five when there keeper failed to hold a shot and Barnard missed from close range.

So another gritty performance without playing that greater football, big performances from Joseph and auger at the back with Auger in particular hitting a streak of form with a decent captains performance.

Funniest moment of the day was finding a picture of Jake and his Mrs Tash that is kept in Jakeys wallet, Ah True Love!!!!
