One of the weirdest games i have ever been part of, we played on a pitch over the back of the Mersea utd ground, and to be fair considering the weather it was in quite good order.

They started with 9 men and for the first 15 minutes although camped in there half we were poor and struggling to concentrate with numerous chances flying high or wide, Tony and Auger with the pick of them missing from 6 yards.
We got off scoring when after a powerful run by Ryan John his deflected shot fell to Grids for him to make it 1-0.
Goals then started to come more easily as did the chances and 4 more went in before half time.
So 5-0 nil half time and with another payer now turned up for them putting them nearly to full strength, we knew they would try and make it more difficult.
Second half started and we began scoring freely.
The game finished 16-0 and there were some good goals in that and some pretty poor ones.

The good ones that stick in the mind are Shauns screamer from 30 yard looping into the top right corner, Matt Hills great individual goal going round 106 players and taking it past the keeper to slot home and Ryan Johns good strike from 25 yards again into the top corner.

What the result doesnt show is the 25 chances we missed on a somewhat comical day of finishing in front of goal.
Tony and Augs in the first half and a funny piece of control from Grids, then in the second half Auger found himself 'ALL ALONE' at the back post only to goofer well wide.
Warren and Blossy seemed to have a competition on the go for most shots, Blossy trying to shoot like David beckham with his pitching wedge feet and scooping well over and Warren only scoring 2 despite 50 shots and his 2 were mainly down to massive deflections.

Miss of the game though goes to Grids who after warren cut the ball back from the by line and found grids 5 yards out in the middle of the goal with no one around him decided to knee it onto the bar, weirdest finish ever, Auger trying to goofer the ball in from close range on the rebound but missing hitting th post. The comical finishing was rounded off when Hill missed after some good play shooting well over.

So a good performance and important to improve the goal difference.

Good skills all round
