O'HARA SHINES AS STAR KNOCKOUT THE FAVOURITES
With Joseph, Pritchard, Neame, Auger all returning to the squad only Joseph got a place in the starting line up the other had to sit the first half on the bench. This bench was a great example of how strong our squad is this season.
The new kit had finally arrived so we looked the part plus playing a side that are sitting top of the league 3 divisions above us seem to get us pump for this match. We came out flying, dominating the possession and controlling the game. Shortly after 5mins it paid off and we went 1 up a great piece of skill from Sillet who put O’Hara through with only the keeper to beat and with the form he is in at the moment make no mistake he finished it off.
Then came what can only be described as a shocker from Denny and he openly holds his hands up and for reasons that are personal to him admits his head was not right. Firstly directly from a corner Pegasus scored which gave them a massive boost and only deflated us, as it was the only shot they had and suddenly the game was turned on its head. We looked like a different side our heads dropped and it was all Pegasus on the 20minute mark a silly free kick was conceded about 40 yards out on the right hand side. From that came along distance shot which should have been fairly easy for Denny but he fumbled and it ended up in the back of the net. After though we show some character and pulled our selves together before there was no way back, some good build up play saw West take a shoot from the edge of the box, it was deflected and rolled over the line we had got back in it and suddenly it didn't look so bad. Until just before half time when a dubious penalty was awarded and Pegasus was 3-2 up at the break.
2 changes were made at half time Denny was taken off for Auger to don the gloves which was much appreciated by me and the team, the other change was Pritchard for Stubbings who was struggling due to antics the previous night. We started this half the same way we started the match and controlled the game. Shortly in to the half a Man of the match Tony levelled things getting himself on the end of a great passing move to tap in his second of the game and his 6th in 4 games. We continue to pile on the pressure and after a succession of corners one was finally met with a Cooky Left foot to put us in the lead for the second time in the game. Pegasus had a few chances to get back into it but of a whole we was very solid at the back in the second half Holiday and Cook playing very well. Tony then with around 20 to go went on a mazy run into the box leaving Pegasus no chose but to bring him down, Cook made no mistake with the pen and sealed the win. Well done lads!!!
REAL BTS in the next round another high flying club from a couple of divisions above but as we have tendency to play well against the bigger sides we will go into it looking for the win.
