TWO LATE GOALS SEE STAR CRASH OUT OF COUNTY CUP

Three changes to the side that won at Ramsey saw Sillett come back in for Pritchard who himself dropped to right back ahead of Neame and the only other change was Gridley coming back early from injury to replace Auger up front.
We started the game going down one nil early doors after failing to clear our lines. After that we got ourselves back into the game when Gridley crossed for Cole and he was brought down in the box. Cook stepped up and made no mistake from the spot. Straight after this a ball was played from back to front, Gridley flicked on the ball for Cole to race through and score to make star go in 2-1 at half time. We came out for the second half and shortly after half time Gridley went down the right crossing the ball for Coley to adjust well and find the corner of the net with an over head kick. 3-1 and Star were in control. From this point on Bts dominated and we struggled to stay in the game. Two quick goals on the break saw Bts get it back to 3-3 and in the dying seconds a free kick missed our entire side and a great diving head from an acute angle saw Bts clinch it 4-3. Although disappointing to throw a 3-1 lead away, we can perhaps find heart in our performance finding ourselves 3-1 up against a side destined for the premier league and beating sides like Black hammer.
